Shinji founded Saskatchewan-based Cannabis Japan Central in 2017, a non-profit organization committed to cannabis education and the promotion of a legal medical cannabis industry in his home country. The organization acts as a network for Japan-based CBD businesses and international partners and investors. Shinji began exporting CBD products from the US to Japan when his father became ill with cancer. The experience motivated him to improve the quality of CBD products made available to the Japanese people. Through a joint venture with Tokyo-based Marijuana JP, Cannabis Japan Central currently exports via the US hemp-derived CBD isolates for the manufacture of a wide variety of products in Japan.

Prior to his arrival in Saskatchewan, Shinji managed a non-profit organization in Bali, Indonesia, established to eradicate poverty in that country. He later founded Koryo, an employment agency based in Nishio, Japan, to aid survivors of what is now called Great East Japan Earthquake. Since his arrival in Canada, Shinji has worked on many cannabis projects in various capacities. He has collaborated with Japanese CBD companies, consulted and developed their business plans, supported angel investment, and established cultivation sites in Canada. Motivated to help people, Shinji is evangelistic about cannabis medicines and the health and well being that cannabis can contribute to creating balanced lifestyles.
